It’s Hurricane Season - Are Your Pets Prepared?
“Most people prepare themselves and their families for emergencies, but don’t always give much thought to how to prepare their pets. We want to give pet owners all the information they need to be ready in the event of an emergency, especially during the hurricane season.”
That’s the voice of Pet Paradise's Chief Executive Officer Fred Goldsmith. He and all the staff at Pet Paradise make the safety of your pet their number one priority, which is why we have developed a pet emergency preparedness program.
Some of you may already know that all Pet Paradise locations serve as pet evacuation sites in the event of mandatory evacuations. In fact, we successfully boarded evacuated pets at our facilities in Palm Coast and St. Augustine, Florida, in 2004, with both locations quickly filling to capacity. Our facilities are Hurricane Category 3 safety rated and a full staff is always on hand to care for evacuated pets.

We’ve also produced an informative brochure - ‘The Pet Lover’s Guide to Emergency Preparedness’ - along with an information card that can be used to store important information about your pets-such as breed, age, vaccination and veterinarian details, medicines, etc. The brochure and information card are free and can be picked up at any Pet Paradise location. And while you’re there, check out the sample pet emergency kit on display in our lobby. It contains all the items you need to have ready for your pet in the event of an emergency situation or evacuation.
Don’t wait until the last minute – make plans for your family and your pets today to avoid disaster tomorrow!
